I am making a return to my Better Than MLM feature.  For this instalment, I loved the Marine Collagen Eye Gel from Peachy Fox, I thought I’d give their wider skincare range a go.

This is produced in comparison with the Younique Divine Daily Moisturiser I previously tried.

A quick recap on Peachy Fox: Made in the UK and based in London, this cool new range is organic, ethically made and not tested on animals.  As I am on a mission to find products that are Better Than MLM, it only seemed right to give this a go.

You already know my thoughts on the Marine Collagen Eye Gel, so let’s take a look at the other things I decided to try.

Let’s start with the Collagen Retinol Moisturiser (4/5)

Initial observations:

Price: £13.99 for 50ml (1.6 fl.oz) [all prices correct on Peachy Fox’s website at time of going to press]

Packaging: Simple, straightforward and looked good on my bathroom shelf! 😉

Paraben and sulphate free.

Not tested on animals.

Lovely natural ingredients listed, such as shea butter, chamomile etc.  Full ingredients list here.

As before, a little goes a long way, so you certainly get good value for money.  I found I only needed about two pumps of the product to cover my face and neck.  You simply pat gently to apply, and finish by lightly tapping your fingertips around the face.  Do this once or twice a day as required – I put mine on in the morning, and before I go to bed.

Did it help?  Yes 🙂  You can feel this moisturiser getting to work (in a good way) as soon as you apply it.  I felt a lovely sense of firmness when dabbing it on my skin, especially around the jawline.  The product felt “clean” if that makes sense?  

Any other thoughts?  In comparison to the Marine Collagen Eye Gel, the pump size is more appropriate for the nature of the product.  As its a moisturiser, you will naturally need a bit more product, but you’re less likely to draw out too much which is a bonus.

Will I continue using the product?  I would certainly like to carry on using it and see how it improves over time, especially as my skin is somewhat maturing.  Want to give it a go?  Order yours here.

 

Moving on to the Anti-Redness Facial Cream (4/5)

Again, a little goes a long way, so you’re still getting good value for money.  I found I only needed about two small pumps of the product to cover my face and neck.  You simply pat gently to apply, and finish by lightly tapping your fingertips around the face.  Do this once or twice a day to calm the skin as required – if I feel my skin needs soothing, I put mine on in the morning, and before I go to bed (in place of the Collagen Retinol Moisturiser.

Did it help?  I would like to think so, especially when teamed up with the Aloe Retinol Serum (which I mention next) – at the bottom of the reviews, you’ll see some before and after photos I took of my cheek, where you can see a reduction in redness.  Alas, I am very prone to adult acne, so sometimes this can flare-up on my face and get quite sore.  Although I do not have rosacea, I can see how this product can be soothing.  Peachy Fox says that this cream can also be used on the body if needed, which is good to know. 

Any other thoughts?  As before, comparison to the Marine Collagen Eye Gel, the pump size is more appropriate for the nature of the product.  I also wish it had a more distinctive scent, as its relatively unscented – but then I am a sucker for a product that smells lush!

Will I continue using the product?  I will certainly have it on-hand on my bathroom shelf, for when I have acne flare-ups.  I don’t think I will need it as much as I do the Collagen Retinol Moisturiser, so this will last me well. Want to give it a go?  Order yours here.

My absolute favourite is the Aloe Retinol Serum (5/5)

It is fair to say that with all Peachy Fox products, a little goes a long way – the value for money is definitely present and accounted for.  I found I only needed about one-two small pumps of the serum to cover my face and neck.  You simply pat gently to apply, and finish by lightly tapping your fingertips around the face.  Do this once or twice a day after cleansing, and before moisturising. 

Did it help?  Definitely – I absolutely LOVE this product.  As mentioned above, I teamed it with the Anti-Redness Facial Cream to help alleviate a flare-up of adult acne.  At the bottom of this post, you’ll see some before and after photos I took of my cheek, where you can see a reduction in redness.  The scent of this product is amazing too – it smells so green and natural, and feels lovely as soon as it hits your skin.  As with the Collagen Retinol Moisturiser, you can instantly feel it getting to work.

Any other thoughts?  As mentioned, the pump size is more appropriate for the nature of the product.  Did I mention how lovely and fresh the smell is? 😉

Will I continue using the product?  Absolutely – my favourite Peachy Fox product by far.  Its very soothing, and good for spot-prone, combination skin like mine. Want to give it a go?  Order yours here.

Oh, and here’s some photos of my cheek area, after two weeks of giving these products a go.  My skin is troublesome and I never expect miracles anymore, but it was nice to have products that help sooth it when its sore and angry. 

My overall verdict on the current Peachy Fox range?

Great value for money, exciting new UK-based company, and also reassuring that the products are all-natural and not tested on animals.  I’m glad I gave these a go.  There are times when I wish it was easier to differentiate between the products though, when you’re feeling fatigued and end up grabbing the eye serum instead of the aloe retinol serum, but its only a minor complaint. 😉

What is the MLM comparison?  Well, it would be the Divine Daily Moisturiser from our friends at #Poonique.  You all know it will be difficult to be impartial due to my  feelings about MLM products…but hey, at least I can be honest.

 

What’s the damage?  Well, its an exceedingly generous [/sarcasm] £30.00 for 50ml!  Granted, this is another “little goes a long way” product…but is this value for money?  No.  

Its hideously overpriced, and we all know why – the presenter has to earn her commission, her upline has to earn commission off her, then her upline’s upline…and Younique itself has to make a profit, otherwise why would they bother?  Hence, you can see how excessive this RRP is.  I will repeat this until I am blue in the face.

It isn’t an awful product by any stretch of the imagination; it didn’t irritate my skin, the packaging is well-presented, the moisturiser goes on smoothly as you would expect…but I could get similar and cheaper results from Superdrug (Superdrug’s products are cruelty-free too).

 

 

To conclude – obviously, its not value for money in comparison with similar high-end products, and thus not worth your hard-earned cash.  Stay away, buy better.

Please note: Since I left the hunlife, I have been made aware that Younique revamped the product and branded it as Royalty Divine Daily Moisturiser.  

They didn’t decide to revamp the price though – it will still cost you £30.00.  If you insist on giving it a try, though, I can’t stop you. 😉
